Cobourg Pays the Shot
The Cobourg Community Centre has just released its schedule of affordable user fees and they are very reasonable. It seems that one price fits all however, users living outside Cobourg get to pay the same rate as residents of Cobourg.
Defending Victoria Park
In 2010 Cobourg made changes to resolve the issues of overcrowding and refuse at Victoria Park, but failed to enforce the new laws because they had not been approved by Queens Park. This is a Cobourg problem with a made in Cobourg solution, we need to defend our town and enforce the laws.
MS & Parkinson Groups Protest to Council
This presentation is being made today (August 23) specifically on behalf of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada Northumberland Chapter and the Parkinson Society Canada Northumberland Chapter and, in a broader way, on behalf of all seniors and persons with disabilities who live in Cobourg.
Cobourg 2010 Issues
A sense of community is something that has been lost in many parts of our country as people relocate for education or employment, few people can meaningfully relate to the town where they live. Not so in Cobourg.
Cobourg Property Taxes
Cobourg is no different from every other town and city in Ontario in terms of job losses, but overall is in much better financial shape than most Ontario municipalities. Cobourg has a great deal of space in which to grow, but large-scale developers prefer large tracts of undeveloped land which may mean major future development occurs outside the Cobourg boundary.
Financial Priorities
Despite the availability of a more cost-effective method of addressing one aspect of public transit a more expensive and inferior solution was adopted.
Cobourg Snow Removal
The streets belong to everybody and so do the sidewalks, and everyone has the right to use them whenever they wish. The town ploughs the roads but expects homeowners to clear the town sidewalk in front of their property, why the inconsistency?
Cobourg Community Centre
Cobourg has an incredible community centre under construction. Unfortunately it looks more like a very posh hockey arena that only addresses the needs of a percentage of our population. What happened to the community in this equation?
